Medium red. Lovely Morey perfume of redcurrant, raspberry, brown spices, dried rose and stony minerality. Concentrated, round, ripe and mouthfilling, combining sweet red berry and spice flavors with a savory element. The supple tannins are buried in fruit on the long back end. La Riotte is always an open style, notes Laurent Lignier, adding that its pH in 2015 is between 3.6 and 3.7. This fruit was harvested on September 11 at 14.2% potential alcohol, with the rocky but deep soil producing 40 hectoliters per hectare. [Stephen Tanzer, 01/01/2017]
