Tasting Notes
Vinous – 91-93
(from 60-year-old vines): Bright ruby-red. Very ripe but cool aromas of black raspberry, spices, licorice and menthol. At once silky in texture and light on its feet, conveying lovely intensity and inner-mouth energy to its berry and violet flavors. Not yet particularly flesh–in fact, this is still youthfully imploded–but juicy and alive, finishing with serious but smooth tannins. A note of bitter blackberry stimulates the taste buds on the back end.
