Tasting Notes
Vinous – 89-91
(this parcel in Rugiens du Haut was replanted in 1975, and the ’85 was the first vintage vinified on its own): Good bright red-ruby. Candied blackberry and black cherry on the nose. Sweet, supple and fine-grained, with a juicy quality and enticing spicy lift to the currant and flint flavors. Finishes with a medicinal quality and good minerality, but the tannins come off as a tad dry. Can’t match the Pezerolles for extract.
