Tasting Notes
JancisRobinson.com – 16.5
Bright mid crimson. Slightly funky nose. Solid fruit. Not much subtlety but a wine that makes an impact. Be careful to serve this pretty tannic wine not too cool.
Anticipated maturity: 2016-2026
Robert Parker – 90
Tasted at Flint Wine’s 2008 horizontal in London. There is good fruit intensity on the nose with mulberry, raspberry and wild strawberry. Good definition. The palate is medium-bodied with fine definition, very supple with fresh strawberry and raspberry, fine tannins on the finish but not complex. Tasted February 2011.
Vinous – 91-94
(racked in July) Deep, bright red. Superripe, complex nose melds berries, violet, damp earth and a whiff of balsamic vinegar. Wonderfully silky and suave on entry, then spicy and pure in the middle, with a very fresh black cherry flavor dominating underlying earth and floral notes. This spreads out impressively on the back end, with broad tannins saturating the palate.
