Tasting Notes
Vinous – 89-92
Medium red. Deep aromas of plum, mocha, smoke and minerals; slightly reduced. Sweet, vinous and fine-grained but reticent today and not yet revealing its personality. But offers a good combination of density and cut. Finishes with good length and freshness.
Robert Parker – 92
The nose is much more masculine than the Charmes, broody, more unresolved but melding together nicely after ten minutes (I left my glass on the side.) Minerals, a touch of seawater and cassis. The palate is very supple with ripe black fruits laced with pepper. Good weight, more so than the Charmes with greater persistency on the finish. Perhaps like Charmes, it does not crescendo towards the end. 12/05
