Tasting Notes

JancisRobinson.com – 16.0

Very dark yet with a very promising sheen to it. Deep, brooding, intense. This does not taste like a second wine (even though it’s in a supposedly second wine flight)! Very luscious and velvety. Rather furry tannins on the finish but clearly very ambitious. Almost over-extracted but it has the fruit intensity to stand the tannic charge. Unusually for a second wine, not ready to drink. Very dry finish. Second favourite! (second wine) [08/09/2006]

Anticipated maturity: 2008-2018

Robert Parker – 90

Very deep hue. Deep broody nose of black cherries, plum and minerals. Very Pauillac in style, quite complex and a lot of new oak. Full-bodied, tannic, muscular, with sweet black fruits, touch of cherry and an almost citrusy freshness. Firm grip with a foursquare finish. Very classic. Again needs 2-3 years but great potential. Tasted September 2006. [Neal Martin, 01/09/2006]

Anticipated maturity: 2008-0
